Paula Croxson
Paula Croxson, PhD is a behavioral and cognitive neuroscientist, award-winning science communicator and storyteller. Dr. Croxson is a freelance public engagement specialist and consultant, working with academics and nonprofits to communicate science with the public in meaningful and effective ways. She obtained her MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and her MSc in Neuroscience and Ph.D. Experimental Psychology from the University of Oxford before moving to New York, where she was Assistant Professor of Neuroscience and Psychiatry and ran a neuroscience lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai for 5 years. Her research focused on higher cognitive function and memory, particularly autobiographical memories and how they are lost in dementia. Her work has been published in multiple academic publications and she has held awards for her scientific work including a Revson Senior Fellowship in the Biomedical Sciences. Now a full-time science communicator, she maintains a position as adjunct Assistant Professor in Neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and is a Senior Producer for The Story Collider. Dr. Croxson is passionate about sharing science with as many people as possible.
