The webinar is suitable for pet owners, veterinary professionals, animal trainers, animal behaviorists, pet guardians, shelter and rescue staff and volunteers, and anyone with an interest in evidence-based behavior and training.

In this Webinar:

Part 1: Risk and Reward
Join us for the first of a 2-part webinar about the adolescent brain. In this webinar, we’ll investigate how rewards are processed differently by the adolescent brain than in adulthood, and what this means for behavior. Why do adolescent animals (and humans!) take more risks and seek regards differently at this time of their lives? How can we support their growth and development at this challenging time?

Part 2: Emotional Processing and Self-Control

Join us for the second of a 2-part webinar about the adolescent brain. In this webinar, we’ll explore how social and emotional development happens during adolescence. During this time, brain changes cause dogs and other animals to leave the protection of their carers and explore more, but they are also more impulsive and less able to control their emotions. We’ll discuss how to best support our animals’ social and emotional development, and what to avoid.
