Meet the instructor
Megan Ramirez
Megan Ramirez, an Alabama native, is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her role at Behavior Vets. After working in kennel and daycare settings for ten years, she joined the team at Veterinary Behavior Consultants of Alabama. She worked as Behavior Technician for four years, assisting doctors with consultations and teaching pet owners foundation skills for their behavior therapy programs. At the same time, Megan worked as an Associate Trainer at Roverchase, an organization that provides professionally trained service dogs to those in need. While there, she trained future service dogs to respond to seizures, retrieve items, turn lights on and off, open doors, and much more. She also worked with service dog recipients once they were matched with their new companions and taught manners to pet dogs in the Roverchase Day Training program.
In July 2019 Megan was featured as the Karen Pryor Academy’s Certified Training Partner of the Month. Megan and her four dogs Xaver, Rim Shot, Legato, and Wiener Schnitzel actively compete in conformation, lure coursing, flyball, and nosework. They even landed in the news when her dog Wiener placed 1st at the Columbus Pet Expo Running of the Wieners.
Megan is also an accomplished triathlete and can be found in the gym or water 6 days a week. To our amazement, she still finds the time and energy to play with her two Maine Coon brothers, Pavlov and Skinner, and builds lego sets to relax.
